Unique upcycled Ponche

- Upcycled from second hand material
We have created a unique collection of eco-friendly surf ponchos, each featuring a different color combination for both men and women. Crafted from handpicked vintage fabrics, meticulously cut into the right pattern, and expertly stitched with the assistance of a local tailor, each poncho is made with love in Morocco, ready to accompany you on your beach adventures.
Every piece in our collection is truly one-of-a-kind and cannot be replicated. Maxime, the founder of Pray for Waves, regularly frequents the market to handpick second-hand materials, ensuring that these beautiful ponchos remain unique and sustainably crafted.
Why Collaborate with Pray for Waves?
We had the pleasure of meeting Maxime, the founder of Pray for Waves, during our extended stay in Taghazout, Marocco. We stumbled upon her while exploring a pop-up market featuring female founders in Tamraght, where sustainable brands are showcased every Sunday. We were captivated by the story behind Pray for Waves and the quality of their products, sparking our desire to collaborate with Maxime. Despite the logistical challenges posed by the distance, as shipping costs from Morocco can be very high, we remain committed to showcasing Pray for Waves on Ethic&Co because we believe Maxime deserves the visibility.
To mitigate shipping costs, we plan to organize future pop-up sales to facilitate bulk orders. Alternatively, if you find yourself in Taghazout for a surfing adventure, don't hesitate to reach out to Maxime directly.
If you want to order from her immediatly this is possible as well, please note shipping costs are high, and taxes may be applicable at the customs.
Contact us if you have any questions. Once you purchased a poncho, you will be invited for an online live sale, where Maxime will show you all her availbale current Models.
Availble Models will differ from the showcased pictures.

Maxime - the Founder
Meet
A passionate Belgian surfer girl who has made her way to the sunny coast of Taghazout, Morocco, where she lives and works. As a talented photographer and creative soul, Maxime is the driving force behind "Pray for Waves," a venture that beautifully merges her love for the ocean, artistic background, and relentless pursuit of second-hand treasures and materials.
Personal Approach
Our
I have a personal connection with every individual I work with, from the person at the market where I purchase the second-hand materials to the sewer in the market. I value the personal contact with all my partners; it reflects what Pray for Waves stands for – unique products made by individual small businesses. This personal touch is infused into every product we create.
Unique Pieces
Handmade
For every poncho, there's a lot of work involved. I personally go to the market to search for suitable second-hand materials, which I then bring home and carefully cut into pieces and shapes. I combine colors in a way that resembles a symphony. Afterwards, I take them to a local sewer in the market in Agadir to have them stitched. Rest assured, your piece will be one-of-a-kind in this world.
Made with love.
