Mission 1: Empowering Sustainable Retailers

The journey began with the realization that small retailers were facing unprecedented challenges, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. But it wasn't just the retailers; even institutions like the legendary Jelmoli in the heart of Zürich were closing their doors due to the changing landscape of shopping.

During COVID-19, retailers were forced to pivot from traditional brick-and-mortar stores to the digital realm. This transition was exceptionally challenging, and many reverted to their traditional business models.

However, alongside these challenges, there is a growing wave of sustainable producers and brands seeking visibility and support. They need a platform to showcase their incredible offerings. In Switzerland, there exists a significant gap — a lack of a purpose-driven marketplace that want to collaborate closely with retailers and these remarkable, sustainability-focused brands as a community and work with them together, to grow together. These brands and retailers are the roots of our economy, our neighbors, our eco-heroes, and the little shops next door.

And we don't stop there. We also aim to amplify the voices of incredible vegan restaurants, cafes, individuals offering workshops for mental health, and anyone dedicated to a single cause: creating something meaningful for a better life with purpose.

Ethic&Co was born to fill this void. Our primary mission is to empower both retailers and small, purpose-driven brands to not only survive but thrive in the digital marketplace. We are here to help them embrace technology, extend their reach to a broader audience, and share their unique, locally-sourced products.

Mission 2: Supporting Social Projects

Our commitment doesn't end with businesses; it extends to the very heart of our communities. A portion of our sales is devoted to supporting social projects close to our hearts. Though we've only just begun, our commitment is steadfast.

Together with Suhara founder of Scerendip, whom our founder met in Sri Lanka on a local market, she decided to create our first social project for local women in Sri Lanka. Find out more about our project Scerendip x Ethic&Co.

Mission 3: Empowering Women in Need

Our journey is deeply personal. Our founder, Katharina, has a personal passion project that drives her. She has experienced the challenges women face in business firsthand, over and over again, and understands the importance of support. Katharina envisions a world where women are not only empowered but also financially supported in their endeavors. Beyond our current missions, our long-term goal is to create a strong market presence, allowing us to establish our foundation. This foundation will be dedicated to helping women in need and supporting impactful women-led projects.
